VAST Forward invites to tête-à-tête
on Sardinia's east coast

APRIL 2017 - An invitation from VAST Forward shot us as well as other project partners of the Hamburg agency to the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea - Sardinia in April 2017. Landing in Olbia at 20:00, our accommodation was waiting for us three hours later in the port city of Santa Maria Navarese - just 10m away from the stand. The first day together was relaxed with snacks and for some finally getting to know each other personally - of course with a view of the harbor.

VAST Light Trekking

ON TO CALA GOLORITZÈ - We were asked to bring sturdy shoes in advance - and on the second day we knew why. Several jeeps took us to the rocky coastal area of Baunei, from where we began a hike lasting several hours in sweltering heat to a previously unknown destination. Sometimes heavily laden with drone equipment, the group of mixed fitness levels worked their way down steep, bumpy paths and wooden ladders that were not TÜV-approved. The first bloody feet appeared after just a few kilometers in white canvas shoes. If you don't want to listen ...

AT THE DESTINATION - After demanding hours on gravel and scree, Cala Gologoritzè rewarded us with an endless view to the horizon, cloudless sky and, of course, turquoise water, which cooled the hot feet and bodies and quickly forgot the exertions. The way back, turned out to be more comfortable, because the sea route led us back to the starting point in Santa Maria Navarese.

Back to the Airport

ORGOLOSO - The way back to the airport held a few small cultural discoveries for us, such as the place known for its murals Orgosolo. Since the 60s, political and social issues are denounced and illustrated here on the walls of houses.
