Ringsum Ubud entdecken wir vor allen Dingen Affen, die dort leben. Von den Balinesen werden sie besonders verehrt. Sie gelten als die Nachkommen des Affenheeres von Rama, einem Helden aus der indischen Mythologie. Sonderlich heldenhaft benehmen sie sich nicht; ganz schön frech sind sie und versuchen unsere Kamera zu klauen! It’s a common belief in Bali, that the good gods live in the forests in the mountains. But mainly, we discover monkeys living around Ubud. They are worshiped by the Balinese because they are considered as the descendants of the monkey army of Rama, a hero of the Indian mythology.
